Luke Highlights
A 10-Day Bible Reading Plan

Luke wasn’t a firsthand witness to the teachings and miracles of Jesus, but he took the time to collect all the information he could, summarize it, and put it in an orderly fashion. There were tons of stories circulating about Jesus, and Luke was passionate about organizing those stories in a way to help people understand who Jesus was and what he came for.

Day 1: Luke 1:1–38
Reflection: Luke begins with ordinary people caught up in something extraordinary—an angel’s announcement, an impossible pregnancy, and God breaking His silence after 400 years. Where do you see God showing up in ordinary or unexpected places in your own life?

Day 2: Luke 2:1–20
Reflection: The birth of Jesus unfolds not in a palace, but among shepherds. This story sets the tone for Luke’s gospel: God shows up in the margins. Why do you think God chose such humble circumstances for Jesus’ birth? What might that say about how He works today?

Day 3: Luke 4:14–30
Reflection: Jesus steps into a synagogue, opens Isaiah’s scroll, and declares His mission—to bring good news to the poor, freedom to the oppressed, and sight to the blind. How does that shape your picture of what following Him looks like?

Day 4: Luke 5:1–11, 27–32
Reflection: Jesus calls fishermen and tax collectors to follow Him, showing that His kingdom begins with the unlikely and the overlooked. Jesus often invited ordinary, imperfect people to join Him. What might it mean for you to say “yes” to that same kind of invitation?

Day 5: Luke 7:1–17, 36–50
Reflection: From healing a Roman officer’s servant to forgiving a woman with a reputation, Jesus shows that grace isn’t limited by status or shame. When you read about Jesus’ compassion for outsiders, who comes to mind that you might extend that same grace toward?

Day 6: Luke 10:25–42
Reflection: Jesus tells the parable of the Good Samaritan and visits Mary and Martha—reminding us that love for others and time with Him are the heart of faith. What do the stories of the Good Samaritan and Mary & Martha teach you about balancing love for others and time with God?

Day 7: Luke 15:1–32
Reflection: Three unforgettable stories—the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son—show God’s relentless joy over every person who comes home. Which of the “lost” stories in this chapter resonates most with you right now—and why?

Day 8: Luke 17:20–37 & 18:9–17
Reflection: Jesus redefines greatness, challenges self-righteousness, and reminds His followers that the kingdom is already among us. Where do you see glimpses of God’s kingdom in your everyday life?

Day 9: Luke 22:14–23:49
Reflection: From the Last Supper to the crucifixion, Luke captures Jesus’ grace under pressure—offering forgiveness even from the cross. As you read about Jesus’ final hours, what stands out most about the kind of love He demonstrates?

Day 10: Luke 24:1–35, 44–49
Reflection: The risen Jesus walks with His friends, opens their eyes, and sends them out—because resurrection isn’t just an event; it’s an invitation. The risen Jesus met people on the road and around the table. Where might He be quietly walking beside you right now?
